    About Glen Rediehs

I am licensed in North Carolina as a Marriage and Family Therapist and also as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. During my career, I have worked with hundreds of individuals, couples and families in agency and private practice settings. My clients are frequently struggling with marital or parent-child conflict, depression, anxiety, loss and grief, spiritual issues, and other personal and family difficulties. If the problem you bring is outside the scope of my practice, I will help you find appropriate resources.

My Ph.D. is from the University of Florida and I received my M.Div. from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. I have served as an ordained clergyman, taught in college and university Psychology departments for many years, directed a parent education project for a decade, and provided training and consulting services to many organizations. I began counseling in 1989.

Personally, I have been married for over fifty years, have two married children and four grandchildren.

I look forward to using my training and experience to be as helpful as I can in creating your best future. Please contact me if you have other questions about me or my practice.

Please call me to discuss the next steps you can take to make your life all you want it to be.

    My Approach to Counseling

When you come to counseling, I will take time to understand your situation and how it is affecting you. Together, we will set goals.

From session to session, I will ask questions that are intended to help you gain insight or make changes. Many of the questions will highlight your strengths and how to use those resources to achieve your goals. I may share my observations about your life and problems or teach you how to use a particular skill. If you come as a couple or family, everyone will participate. Occasionally, I may meet separately with the individuals in a couple or family.

My primary approach to counseling is Solution-focused Brief Therapy. Nevertheless, I also use appropriate methods from Cognitive, Behavioral, Narrative, Family Systems, and other therapy models. You will find me to be “faith-friendly.” Without imposing religious beliefs, the faith and spiritual resources of clients are integrated with therapeutic methods from behavioral sciences.

Please call me to discuss the next steps you can take to make your life all you want it to be.
